06/21/2013 – A new sushi bar and restaurant, Nippon Sushi Bar, is coming to northern Bloomfield Township in the next month, according to the architect and planner.

The family-owned and operated Nippon Sushi is currently under construction at 2079 S. Telegraph Road, next to Olga’s Kitchen, and is anticipated to be open by late July, said Shane Burley, principal at Ron Jona Collaborative, architects and planners. Burley said it is the first restaurant for the owner, Albert M. Rodriguez, the owner of ImageMaster in Ann Arbor, whose son-in-law is a sushi chef with 10 years of experience.

Nippon Sushi will offer a full-service kitchen of Japanese meals and specialties in addition to the sushi bar. It will accommodate 45 diners with sushi bar seating, tables, and intimate booths, The interior design features custom lighting and accents, modern finishes and a clean, refined appearance, Burley said. The Ron Jona Collaborative provided full architectural and interior design services.

The new restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, with a full carryout menu. According to Burley, Nippon offers a comprehensive website experience, online ordering as well as mobile applications “that will allow you to store and send your favorite items in and then pick them up,” Burley said. “It’s really personalized dining and convenience.”

Nippon Sushi Bar will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturdays, and noon to 9 p.m. Sundays. Burley said the owners anticipate it being a lunch hot spot due to the concentration of offices and stores nearby.
